Track cycling: Netherlands smash world record again to win men's team sprint gold
Wow. There are no words.
As if taking three-hundredths off the men's team sprint world record in the first round earlier wasn't enough, theNetherlands have justobliterated their own mark by nearly a quarter of a second.
They cross the line in a barely believable 40.949 seconds, the first team to go under 41 seconds, to win gold against Great Britain.
Australia won bronze by beating hosts France.

Basketball: France beat Canada to advance to semi-finals
It got close - six points, in fact - but France were able to pull away when it mattered most, courtesy of a huge Evan Fournier three from what was almost half-court, to seal a 82-73 win.
The French players stay on court to soak in the applause from their home fans. Real Madrid forward Guerschon Yabusele was unstoppable in the post, scoring 22 points.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander did all he could (27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists), but it simply wasn't to be for Canada.
France will now face world champions Germany in the semi-finals, whom they lost to in the group stage of the competition.

Track cycling: Australia dethrone team pursuit reigning champions Italy, taking their world record
Wow, I think we can consider this a big surprise in the men's team pursuit.
Reigning Olympic champions and world record holdersItaly, whose world record had stood since their race to gold three years ago in Tokyo, have been dethroned byAustralia – who've only gone and taken the world record too!
Oliver Bleddyn,Sam Welsford,Conor Leahy, andKelland O'Brien come home in 3:40.730 – more than 1.3 seconds faster than that previous world record!
Australia will race Great Britain for gold while Italy take on Denmark for bronze.

We've got one quarter to go, and Canada have cut the French lead down to 11.
France still lead 61-50, but its a much tighter affair now. I wouldn't say nerves are building inside Bercy Arenajustyet, but if it gets any closer I think we'll start to see some concerned expressions from some of the France fans.

Skateboarding: Arisa Trew wins women's park gold on final run
Australia's 14-year-oldArisa Trew, who had been in third after the first two runs, throws down a massive third round including a big body varial 540that has her support staff erupting in joy!
Trew earns a massive 93.18 to shoot to the top of the standings with just five riders to go. Heili Sirvio of Finland can't get into the top three.
Sky Brown is next, riding with a dislocated shoulder. It's a great run! She is thrown up in the air by her dad. It's 92.31 and moves her ahead of Hiraki Cocona!
Japan'sKusaki Hinano falls on her last run and so won't be moving up the standings. Trew is guaranteed a medal.
Only Hiraki and USA'sBryce Wettstein can prevent that medal being gold.
But Wettstein, too, can't complete one of her tricks! So Trew and Brown are guaranteed medals!
All eyes on Hiraki. It's a clean run! It looks good and solid! The Japanese raises both arms in the air then goes over to get hugs from all her competitors.
92.63! She beats Brown for silver! Brown is standing right behind her and can barely look - they then hug, both with massive smiles on their faces.
Arisa Trew is Olympic champion – and the Australian also sports a wide grin as she hugs her fellow medallists.
She's the youngest Paris 2024 medallist so far these Olympic Games!

Basketball: Serbia beat Australia in overtime
What. A. Game.
In the end, it's one of the best basketball players on earth who makes the difference.
In a sequence of about two minutes, Nikola Jokic produces a tough hookshot score, a key steal on Mills as he looked set to score, and a ridiculous fadeaway shot to effectively seal the game for the world silver medallists.
Australia has a chance to tie things yet again with a few seconds remaining, but a bad inboud pass from Josh Giddey is stolen and Serbia escape with the win, 95-90.
Serbia fans serenade their heroes as one, with more MVP chants for Jokic - well deserved.
Next up? Hosts France against 2023 world bronze medallists Canada.

Skateboarding: Hiraki Cocona (JPN) leads top eight qualifiers into finals of women's park
That score from Hiraki in her second run (88.07) did end up being the best of all the athletes in the preliminaries, but the big news is that defending Olympic champion Yosozumi Sakura (JPN) doesn't make the cut; her opening run score of 79.70 is only good enough for 10th.
Tokyo 2020 bronze medallist Sky Brown (GBR) is safely through with a score of 84.75 despite competing with a dislocated shoulder.
