Brett Favre's longtime home in the Hattiesburg, Mississippi area is on the market, and it is one of the most expensive homes in the state, The Wall Street Journal reports.
Favre, a Kiln, Mississippi native who spent most of his NFL career playing for the Green Bay Packers, has listed his 465-acre property, known as Black Creek Farm, for $14 million, according to the listing on Live Water Properties' website.
For that price, buyers have "an exceptional opportunity to own one of the premier properties in the Pine Belt region," according to the listing.
Black Creek Farm has been the primary residence of Favre, his wife Deanna, and their two daughters since the late 1990s, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
It is about 20 minutes west of Hattiesburg and about an hour-and-a-half from Jackson, New Orleans, and Mobile.
The property boasts approximately 20,018 square feet of living space space consisting of a custom main house, pool, pool house, sports courts and grounds, according to the listing.
In addition to the main estate, various outbuildings and an internal road network support the estate, according to the listing. The estate is also home to huntable wildlife and close to bodies of water.
If the open space wasn't enough, photos provided to media and on the listing showcase numerous luxurious features inside the home.
Features include the following:
- Floor-to-ceiling windows
- A grand staircase
- A library
- A home gym and sand volleyball court
- A movie theater
- A main kitchen with a large center island and an outdoor kitchen
- A game room
- A large walk-in shower
Favre praised the property in a statement to the Wall Street Journal.
"Black Creek Farm has been the heart of our family for over 20 years," Favre said in a statement emailed to the Journal. "It's where we've raised our family and gathered with friends, spent summer afternoons by the pool and cookouts by the grill and enjoyed quiet walks through the gated 460-plus acres."
Favre, who grew up a Saints fan and won his only Super Bowl in 1996 in New Orleans, disclosed that he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease last year during a Congressional hearing regarding a welfare spending scandal in Mississippi.
While he did not face charges related to the scandal, Favre repaid over $1 million in speaking fees funded by the state's welfare program.
